Make a Donation to the Iglehart Fund

The Francis N. Iglehart Fund, which was established in 2007, is used to purchase threatened land and to provide The Manor Conservancy with funds that can be used underwrite and safeguard the stewardship of properties held under easement by The Manor Conservancy.

Ike Iglehart, local conservationist. This Fund is named after Frances "Ike" Iglehart who participated in The Manor Conservancy, community affairs, and environmental conservation in Northern Baltimore County and Northwestern Harford County. Ike served as a member of the board of The Manor Conservancy since its inception and was an active leader, on the frontlines, of every major preservation battle undertaken by the Conservancy.  Ike advocated protective zoning and diligent enforcement. He raised money, found buyers for farms targeted by developers, and served as an invaluable salesman for conservation easements. Ike was a steady hand and imparted his wise counsel, political and diplomatic skills, and time and energy to those he mentored in the conservation arena. His efforts were critical in fending off ill-conceived development and commercialization.

Honor Ike's work and the permanent monument of conserved land he left behind by supporting the Iglehart Fund.

Help us build the fund. Contributions, bequests, and grants are kept in a dedicated, temporarily-restricted, revolving account. Its assets are used as seed money for establishing purchasing syndicates or for outright purchases of land under threat. The funds are replenished when that purchased land is resold with conservation restrictions and when easement issues are resolved.  The fund can be used as a reserve for stewardship defense if necessary.

We welcome donations of any size.
