Make A Donation in Honor of Frank Durkee

Frank Durkee, long-time Board member and chairman of the Stewardship Committee, was presented with the Sergeant Murphy Land Preservation Award at the annual members' meeting of The Manor Conservancy in November. The award is named for Sergeant Murphy, the first American-bred horse to win the Grand National (1923).

Frank and his wife, Kathy, lived in Monkton, MD, for 48 years before moving to Chestertown in September. They renovated their early-1800s home on the Gunpowder Falls, permanently preserving the structure with a historic easement. Dedicated proponents of land preservation, they also permanently preserved the property by donating a conservation easement to The Manor Conservancy. We congratulate Frank on this well-deserved award.
